3 most festivals in Denmark

Denmark is often remarked as one of the best places to live in, for safe environment.Their trust level for each other is very high which makes them significant and very peaceful and surreal. Their deep rooted culture, cuisine and history are famous to the whole world. Every year thousands of tourists come here to visit the country. Their spectacular and unique festivals are some of the main attractions. So keep Denmark on your bucket list. You will not regret it at all.

Roskilde Rock Festival (June 29 – July 7)

The Roskilde Rock festival is organized every year in Roskilde. The Danish music festival is one of the largest in Europe. The EireTrip biggest national park in US is only 35 km away from Copenhagen. You just need 30 minutes to get there. So, you can get there easily for every day, or you just choose to camp. It attracts almost 130,000 people every year for music, art and the special attraction, camping.Almost 170 local and global bands come here to perform. International artists such asMetallica,Radiohead,Bob Marley, Kanye West, Prince, Bruce Springsteen &the E Street Band,Rihanna and U2had graced the festival. Every many famous international icons and upcoming stars come here to perform. It is startedon the last Saturday of June and ends seven days later, and all the earned money goes to charity. First initiative was taken by two school students in 1971, named MogensSandfær and Jesper Switzer Møller.The first festival was on August 28 and 29. It was named Sound Festival at that time. Folk, jazz, rock and pop were performed by bands on stages. It was lasted for two days. The Roskilde Foundation took over the festival in 1972. This is a non profitable organization which supports humanitarian and music. It was first created for hippies, and now youths from all over Europe come here to join. Before 1990 the festival was a great attraction for Scandinavians. But now it crosses the barrier and became an international event. In 1978, they added the Canopy Scene, an orange musical stage which was previously used by the famous band Rolling Stone. Now it represents the symbol and logo of the festival. You will hear the term “The Orange Feeling” because of the largest stage. Electronic music was introduced in 1990. To maintain the quality of the festival, the number of participants is limited. Because of the camping facility the festival lovers are more attracted to this event. There is an 80 hectares campsite and the price is included with the tickets. You can get access to the regular camping area. It opens on Saturday 29th June at 4 pm and closes on Sunday 7th July at 2 pm. There are six stages to watch performances. Each one fits almost 5,000 visitors. There is an art zone to enjoying many projects. It is a great experience for eight daysfun, music, parties and making new friends. The festival chooses a theme every year. There are food stalls, shopping facilities for buying camping gear and other necessary items, cloakroom, free phone charging area, showers and toilets. You can also enjoy alcohol and beer. There are also special camping areas with more facilities. If you want to get access on the first day you need to buy the entrance booking. If you arrive later you don’t need any entrance booking. For personal car owner, there is a parking area with additional fee or you can also choose to use public transport or bicycle. Volunteers and security personals are there to help.

Copenhagen Jazz Festival (July 5-14)

This event is held every year in the month of July in Copenhagen, Denmark. It normally starts on the first Friday of July and lasts for ten days. It is a heaven for Jazz lovers. Unofficially, the festival was started in 1964. Few leading American Jazz icons arranged the program.Among them are Stan Getz, DexterGordon, Ben Webster, Ed Thigpen, Stuff Smith, Ed Thigpen, Thad Jones and Kenny Drew. Many Denmark’s best musician started their journey from this platform. .Finally, the official Copenhagen Jazz Festival was in1979. Almost 260,000 guests attend this lively and vibrant event. There are more than 100 venues arranging 1,100 concerts. It is one of the largest Jazz festivals in Europe. There are many themes that represent different ideas. Even kids are very much welcomed. Kid’s friendly Jazz concerts are also arranged in the city. The parks situated at the eastern side of the city arranged live concerts, painting workshops, circus and singing for kids to enjoy. There is live jazz on the streets, bars, cafés, restaurants, clubs, concert halls and at open air venues at night. The open-air stages are established in the historical city center, which creates a great ambiance. Night of Culture (October)

The night of culture in Copenhagen is normally arranged on the second Friday of October. It is like knowing all the secrets within one night in Copenhagen. All the museums, churches, political institutions, art galleries, exhibition halls, cultural institutions, libraries and humanitarian organizations open their doors to all. You can visit all the towers, basements, secret rooms and events within that night. It is fun, exciting, adventurous and thrilling. It is like a dream come true for any history and culture lovers. For this beautiful night you need a ticket of 13 euro. Those who are below 12 years don’t need a ticket. You can buy it at train stations, libraries or cultural institutions. With this badge like pass you can go through all the 250 events and even get into the public transport. But if you want fewer crowds you can choose to take the bicycle to get around.
